Terms of Use

Simple rules for using TressDNA.

These Terms form an agreement between you and Shiva Suthapalli, operating TressDNA (“TressDNA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), for use of the TressDNA app and related services.

1. Eligibility and acceptance

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. By creating an account, accepting the in-app confirmation, or using TressDNA, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Do not use the service if you do not agree.

2. What TressDNA provides

TressDNA uses automated systems to estimate visible face and hair characteristics from a photo, suggest hairstyles to explore, and generate optional haircut previews using available try-on credits. Analyses and previews are approximate, subjective, and may be incomplete or wrong; a generated preview does not guarantee a real salon result. TressDNA does not provide medical, genetic, biometric-identification, employment, financial, or other professional advice.

3. Your account and photos

Provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials, and promptly report unauthorized use. Only upload a photo of yourself, or a photo you have clear permission and legal authority to submit. Do not submit a minor’s photo, confidential material, or content that violates another person’s privacy or rights.

4. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service, bypass limits or purchase controls, interfere with security, reverse engineer protected service components, automate abusive requests, submit unlawful content, impersonate another person, test the system with photos without permission, or use results to make high-impact decisions about anyone.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Prices, billing periods, trial terms, and renewal details are shown by Apple or Google before purchase. Subscriptions renew until cancelled through the applicable store. Deleting TressDNA does not automatically cancel a store subscription. Refunds and billing disputes are handled under the store’s rules. A “lifetime” purchase means access for the supported commercial life of the TressDNA service, not the purchaser’s lifetime and not a promise that the service will operate forever.

6. Rewarded advertising

You may choose to view a third-party rewarded ad in exchange for an in-app scan or try-on credit, as shown in the app. Ad availability and rewards are not guaranteed. Advertising privacy choices are handled as explained in the Privacy Policy and through available in-app and device controls.

7. Ownership

TressDNA and its licensors own the app, branding, software, catalog, and service content, excluding content you lawfully provide. We give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended consumer purpose. You retain your rights in your photo and grant us and our processors the limited permission needed to transmit and process it for the scan or haircut preview you request.

8. Third-party services

The service depends on providers including Google Firebase, OpenAI, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play. Their availability and applicable terms may affect the service. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond what applicable law requires.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue features; change free-scan limits; correct catalog content; or take action needed for security, law, provider requirements, or service sustainability. We will provide notice where required.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TressDNA is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular appearance, salon outcome, compatibility with every device, identity-perfect previews, or the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated estimates, previews, and recommendations. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer guarantees that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TressDNA will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, or decisions made from hairstyle recommendations. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to TressDNA during the preceding 12 months or the minimum amount required by law.

12. Suspension and deletion

We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated violations, fraud, security threats, or legal requirements. You may stop using TressDNA at any time and delete your account from Account settings. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability, and lawful record retention—will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will receive a new effective date and, when appropriate, renewed in-app acceptance. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

14. Applicable law and contact

Applicable mandatory consumer and privacy laws remain unaffected. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer forum or law that applies, disputes will be resolved by the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka. Questions may be sent to cynodev256@gmail.com.
